Tribute

downsized_1117092107aJust a quick blog to post my tribute to Mercy, and of course all of the furkids lost prior and that I’m sure I’ll have the misfortune to part with in the future.  The picture isn’t that great.  This is an hour after I got it. The quote is “A heartbeat at my feet”.  Some people may not be big on tattoos… but this was a part of my healing process.  I got it a week after I lost Mercy, and as it heals, so am I still trying to heal.

I'm a 24 year old veterinary technician at a small animal practice. I spend most of my time in surgery while I'm there. I come home to a 9.5 year old miniature pinscher, Mercy; a 3 year old longhaired tuxedo cat, Mouse; and a 6 year old longhaired tuxedo cat, Tippin. When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my fur-kids, gaming on my computer, or studying for work-related things. I was excited to find Tripawds, a website specifically for cancer-induced three-legged furkids like my own (at least, soon to be).

  1. That is beautiful!! Did you design it yourself? Such a beautiful tribute…

How are you doing these days? I’m sure the holiday was difficult for you… as it has been for me and many others that have recently lost their babies… They say that time heals… but I’m still waiting for that to happen… 🙁

    Sending you a big hug!

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about Mercy…it’s just not fair 🙁
We’re sending you hugs and comfort and hopefully a little peace.

I love your tribute – it’s really beautiful…I took a picture of Zeus’ paw print and had that tattooed on the inside of my ankle – my first tattoo – I wanted him with me always and forever and that’s where he always rested his head when we snuggled. I understand. It is part of the healing process for me too.

    (((hugs))))
